THE TIME TUNNEL

The Time Travellers are dropped into the conflict between Robin Hood and the King he will force to sign the Magna Carta.

Into the dungeon of the l3th century English castle tumbles Tony,, while Doug lands above in a throne room corridor and overhears a conference as the King, John raves at the Earl of Huntington. As the King’s advisor Dubois, listens, he denounces Huntington as a traitor for spear-heading a movement among his Barons to get him to sign the Magna Carta, a document guaranteeing freedom to his subjects. Enraged, he orders the captain of his guards, Engelard, to seize Huntington, who springs nimbly away and almost makes good his escape but for tripping over Doug. Both are caught and imprisoned and Engelard is ordered to torture them until they reveal the secret meeting-place of the Barons who are planning to march on John if he refuses to sign. Tony, meanwhile moves out of hiding and manages to get Doug and himself outdoors, but is not able to save Huntington before soldiers converge on the call. During this, those at the Tunnel have decided to send a homing post to the pair as a means of extracting them from danger. But the metal post falls into the dungeon as Huntington, with the Time Travellers gone, is recaptured. In the forest, the Travellers learn of their whereabouts as they meet up with Friar Tuck and Little John and find that the captured Huntington is none other than Robin f-Hood. Soon men sent out after the escapee attack and shoot on arrow into Little John’s shoulder. Tony, and Doug mange to batter the soldiers aside and Tuck guides them to a nearby hall where the Baroness Elmont offers sanctuary. Doug consults her cupboard and selects something he knows will kill the pain while Tony extracts the arrow. During all this torture has been unable to extract any information from Huntington, and the King offers gold to whoever will help him. The Baroness unfortunately, is seduced by the offer, and informs Dubois of the outlaws at her Hall. At the same time, Doug and Little John fight off an attack at the Hall by making a smoke bomb with the Baroness' chemicals. Meanwhile, Tuck and Tony pose as friars, sent to administer last rights to Huntington and thus get inside his cell and freee him. As they all leave the cell, Tony spots the homing post designed to pick him up, but declines to use it in the absence. of Doug. The three away, leaving the Baroness, who revealed to the three men the Barons meeting place, Runnymede, to meet her end at Dubois’ hands for having brought Robin Hood’s men into the castle. The three escapees join Doug and Little John and all quickly plan to capture the King to prevent the disaster he plans for Runnymede. As a result Doug and Tony, at Runnymede see King John furiously affix his seal to the Magna Carta and the two vanish into the Vortex of Time.
